John Schleining
John Schleining lives in Ashland, Oregon, and received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Oregon in Political Science, Psychology, and Education; Curriculum and Instruction. John completed his psychology internship at the University of Oregon Medical School, Psychiatric Crisis Unit.
Employment history included Counseling Director at the High School Equivalency Program, counselor at the Clackamas County Juvenile Department, founder and director of the Clackamas County Counseling and Recreation Program, therapist at the Clackamas County Mental Health Clinic, Dean of Students at Phoenix High School, instructor at Southern Oregon University and a private practice in counseling. After John’s counseling career, he became an entrepreneur, real estate developer, builder, and the owner of shopping centers, commercial office buildings, apartments, and assisted living centers. Mr. Schleining has served on many non-profit boards of directors, including the Ashland Schools Foundation, the Wes Howard Memorial Sports Park, and the Schleining Family Foundation. Mr. Schleining has helped Logos Charter School build its school facilities in Medford, Oregon, helped the Mountain Academy, and is currently helping to build a Vietnam War Memorial Wall. Mr. Schleining considers it an honor to serve on the board of directors of American Classical Lyceum Association and looks forward to enhancing the principles and the classical education of the John Adams Academy.
